焊接钢管质量的检验内容包括检查和验收。由技术监督机构根据焊接钢管产品所执行的地方标准、行业标准、企业标准及用户合同注明的技术条件和要求对产品进行的逐项的检查和试验。

焊接钢管质量检验的目的是确保出厂的产品质量符合标准及用户合同的规定，发给用户合格的产品，确保出厂焊接钢管的质量，不合格的螺旋焊管产品不出厂。检验由技术监督机构进行，技术监督机构以产品生产标准为依据，对产品进行正确的检查和验收，根据焊接钢管质量检验结果。

通常将焊接钢管分为三类：合格品、返修品和废品。合格品指外观质量和内在质量符合有关标准或交货验收技术条件的焊接钢管；返修品指的是钢管存在缺陷，但允许进行修复，修复合格还可进行使用，但修复次数不得超过两次；废品指的是，存在缺陷的焊接钢管无法进行修复的，按废品判定。
